After measuring and sawing a piece of lumber to rough dimensions, it is planed to finished dimensions. Our plane irons are of four standard sizes and can be used in any standard - sized planes on the market.


The plane iron is made of German chrome vanadium steel, and is stamped and heat - treated. It has a Rockwell hardness (HRc) of 62 - 65. To sharpen cutting edge use a sharpening stone of grain 60 or 80.

The plane irons are also available with an unpainted, machine - ground finish.
